MoU On KL – Singapore High Speed Rail

MoU On KL – Singapore High Speed Rail
Salam 1Malaysia,

Dear Friend,

Insya-Allah by 2026, Malaysians will be able to have nasi lemak in Kuala Lumpur, close deals over chili crab in Singapore and be back for a dinner of rendang with the family.

All these will be made possible when the Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia High Speed Rail (HSR) project commences operations by 2026. Then, travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore is expected to be cut to 90 minutes – even faster than taking a flight.

Yesterday's signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the Republic of Singapore for the Kuala Lumpur – Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project is a major milestone for Malaysia.
The MoU is a step forward and signifies the Government's firmest commitment to this iconic project. It is also a reflection of the future of Malaysia and Singapore – an area of growing prosperity and affluence, a new lifestyle to be enjoyed by Malaysians, Singaporeans and visitors alike. One that will unlock a plethora of opportunities and development, especially for Malaysia.

Moving forward, we stand to gain from this development, ranging from the direct effects through people-to-people ties and business linkages particularly in our banking and finance sectors to the socio-economic spin-offs for the people living in the cities along the HSR project, especially in Bandar Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat and Iskandar Puteri.
This is the shape of things to come. I am excited and extremely committed in pursuing this project till completion. With the HSR project, I want to leave a lasting legacy by shaping a sustainable and prosperous Malaysia that our future generations will continue benefitting from, for many years to come.
